Bella Brown- Farm Animal Whisperer

A few weeks ago we went to Bear World outside Rexburg, ID. They had a petting zoo. Bella loves animals and has no fear. So, she would walk up to every animal, crouch in front of them, speak to them in her "language" and then proceed to pat them on the back. It was hilarious.

Bye Bye Binkie

Ready to Go Shopping

We decided that it was FINALLY time to say goodbye to Bella's binkys for good. She would only get them at night, but still she is three and it was time for the big goodbye. We decided that Family Night would be the perfect opportunity to say audios to her old friend. We thought we would "send them to the moon" with balloons, but we did not get enough balloons and the binkys weighed them down. So, we went to plan b. We told Bella that she could get a brand new toy of her choice, if she would pay for it with "binky money."

Checking out the merchandise

We gathered up her "dees," as she refers to them, she grabbed her purse, and we headed to Target. She very quickly found a puppy that barks and whines. It also had veternarian supplies with it. Very cool.

Finding the binky money.

We took the toy upfront and the kind cashier played along and took Bella's 5 "dees" in exchange for her new toy. It worked well. She loves her new toy.

Walking away a winner.

The real test will now come to see how sleeping goes. It took her an extra hour to finally fall asleep tonight. Hoepfully tomorrow will be better.

2 Months Old

How can my gorgeous baby already be two months? Where did summer go? And when did the crispness in the morning air begin? It must have all happened while I was trying to figure out how to be a mom of two. I love the baby stage. I love his smell. I love that he falls asleep on my chest. I love that I can quiet him when no one else can. I don't want the itty-bitty stage to be over. The sleepy, lovey, not sassy yet stage...

We went to the doctor today and found out that my tiny one now weighs, 8 lbs 12 oz. Now, this is not a lot for a two month old. But, for Chase it is huge! That means he gained over 3 lbs in six weeks. Over 4 lbs since birth! He is beginning to get chubbs (which I love) but I am not wanting to say goodbye to my bitty bug.

First Day of Preschool

Bella's bus and bus driver.

She is not sure she wants to wave goodbye.

I was scared too, Bella.

Coming Home Happy.

Bella started the school district's speech preschool on 8/25/08. Since she is eligible for the school district's services, they bus her to school. When the bus pulled up on the first day, she was not too sure how she felt about it. In fact, she started crying. Then, I felt horrible. So, being the emotional mom that I am, I followed the bus to school and shed a few tears myself. I wanted to make sure that she got there and that she had stopped crying.

Well, by the time the bus dropped her off after school she was all smiles. And has since loved every time "her bus" shows up to take her off to school. She is so big and I am so proud of her.

Brave Girl

My independent 3 year old has decided that she likes to swim on her own.

John's Birthday

um.....I probably should have posted this before posting Bella's.....but John turned 28 on August 7th. He had to be out of town on his birthday, so we welcomed him home with a sign made by Bella and me and his favorite treat, a homemade cherry pie.

Bella's Birthday Party

She insisted on wearing my necklace with her outfit. She already is into accessorizing. I am very proud.

Bella turned 3 on August 17th. The day before we had her birthday party. We went to a local splash park and playground. We had some family and a couple of friends come. It really was a great time. Bella loved it. She especially loved the pinata....not so much the candy, as much as, whacking something with a stick.

Her presents were perfect for her too. Play shoes. Plastic food. And a Fancy Nancy book. What more could a girly girl want?

Radiohead Concert-Hollywood Bowl 8/24/08

I have many theories, some may say way too many, and one is that if you don't like Radiohead its because you haven't listened to them enough. So when they went on tour this year it was a must see. After a series of lucky coincidence and plain old good luck we (by we I mean Tim) landed some sweet seats. The only weekend they were in L.A. was on August 24th (Our 6th Anniversary). So I made the sacrifice and went anyways.
Tim Dance, his brother Dave and I flew down to LAX on Saturday and stayed at Phil's house in Redondo Beach (thanks Phil and Jackie!). We saw all sorts of movie stars at the concert (Ellen + 1, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, Seth Green and the redheaded wife from "Friday Night Lights"). But that was in no way the highlight. The best 2 hours of music followed. Pictures and video to follow! If its possible I found a whole new level of Radiohead addiction. By the way I did make it up to Courtney and we spent last weekend together celebrating our 6 years together.-John

Excuse my shaking hands, its a long song ("Nude", from the album "In Rainbows")
